Bhopal: In Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, a tragic incident occurred whereby an elephant charged its mahout and killed him on the spot. The authorities were notified, and the police came running as soon as they received the call. Now, the police have taken the deceased into their possession and are already probing the incident. The whole episode came under the legal authority of Chola Mandir Police Station.
As per the details provided by the Chola Mandir Police, the person who lost his life was Narendra Kapadia (55 years), belonging to Salaiya village of Satna. The nobleman was entered by his elephant and five companions, residing near the Bhavanpur Bridge. According to the account of his fellows, the journey through the Parvaliya had taken them to Bhopal on a Wednesday night. Today, they tied up the elephant near a tree in a small open meadow called Bhavanpur Setu. In the evening, around 9 O’clock, when they are called for dinner, they all sleep around the night in the fur beside the elephant.
Once at night, the elephant severely assaulted its owner Narendra Kapadia, inflicting severe blows that killed him on the spot. Police, having received any information about the occurrence, quickly got to the scene. The referred corpse has undergone an autopsy at Hamidia Hospital. At present, the Chola Mandir Police have started their investigation to find out the factors that are related to this unfortunate event.
It has become quite alarming with the latest event that even those animals that are domesticated are capable of causing so much tragedy, especially since they were animals known to exist in captivity. Eyewitnesses are being questioned, and forensic investigations are underway to establish the exact details of how the attack progressed to the fatality. The people of the forest department have also been enlightened about the incident; they are expected to be of help in any way that they comprehend what led to the aggressive behaviour of the elephant.
