Bhopal: In the capital city, the District Language Officer Association is gearing up for its biennial elections for the 2023-25 term, scheduled for January 8. With 8,500 registered lawyers in Bhopal, the verification list from the Madhya Pradesh State Bar Council reveals that 4,616 lawyers will exercise their voting rights.
The elections encompass 96 candidates vying for 24 positions, including President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, Library Head, and Male/Female Executive Members. To ensure impartiality and transparency, 125 additional election officials, led by the Chief Election Officer, have been appointed.
The polling is set to take place at the court premises from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM during the two-yearly elections of the District Bar Association on January 8. Prayanath Pathak, Rajesh Vyas, Deepak Khare, Jitin Rathaur, and Rajesh Kumar Tandon are the contenders for the coveted position of President.
