Bhopal: Cold winds have increased the chill in Madhya Pradesh. Dense fog enveloped the capital, Bhopal, for the second consecutive day, severely disrupting traffic. Reduced visibility has slowed train speeds. The clouds and fog have caused daytime temperatures to drop. A cold wave alert has been issued for the state, along with the fog. 

According to the Meteorological Department, the air is sufficiently humid after the passage of the Western Disturbance. As a result, fog is being felt across North India. The fog will persist for the next two days. Similar conditions are also prevailing in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Bihar.

In Madhya Pradesh, the mercury remained below 20 degrees in 11 cities on Friday-Saturday night. The lowest temperature was recorded in Pachmarhi. The mercury here was 5.6 degrees. Whereas 6 degrees was recorded in Shivpuri, 6.6 degrees in Datia, 7.7 degrees in Gwalior and 8.1 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kalyanpur of Shahdol. Whereas the temperature was recorded at 8.2 degrees in Rajgarh, 8.9 degrees in Mandla, 11 degrees in Bhopal, 12.5 degrees in Jabalpur and 12.6 degrees in Ujjain.

Dense fog alert issued for the next two days

Fog will prevail in MP for the next two days. On Monday, January 5, there will be fog in Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Datia, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Rewa, Mauganj, Maihar, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Chhatarpur and Panna. On Tuesday, January 6, there will be dense fog in Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Datia, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Rewa, Mauganj, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Chhatarpur and Panna.
