Jabalpur: Significant action has been taken by the Jabalpur GRP Police in a case of theft. They have apprehended a crafty thief with 38 seized mobile phones. The estimated value of the confiscated mobiles is around INR 7,19,000. The arrested suspect had orchestrated mobile theft incidents across different police precincts.

Aakansha Singh, the Deputy Inspector General of Jabalpur GRP Police, overseeing the investigation, explained that some time ago, a resident of Jabalpur named Jitendra Shrivastav had filed a complaint about mobile theft. Based on this complaint, the Jabalpur GRP Police initiated an intensive checking campaign. During this operation, the police captured a person named Nathu Lal Upnathan.

Upon questioning the suspect, the police discovered not only his involvement in mobile theft but also his admission to stealing a total of 38 mobile phones from various locations. The ongoing investigation by the Jabalpur GRP Police aims to determine the extent of the suspect’s involvement and identify additional locations where mobile thefts have occurred.

In the course of the interrogation, it was revealed that the apprehended suspect, Nathu Lal Upnathan, has a criminal history, with several cases registered against him in various police stations. The police are conducting thorough inquiries to ascertain the specifics of his criminal activities, aiming to uncover any undisclosed instances of mobile theft beyond the seven locations initially identified.

The successful apprehension of the thief reflects the effectiveness of the police’s strategic checking campaign. The GRP Police in Jabalpur are actively engaged in unraveling the full scope of the suspect’s criminal activities, emphasizing the importance of community safety and the relentless pursuit of justice in combating such crimes.
