Gwalior: In a recent burst of operation, the Crime Branch of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, has nabbed five gamblers. Police received information that there was gambling going on in a guest house. Early on, the police were quick to respond and carried out a search operation, where the accused was caught with the items in question. Police also recovered cash amounting to more than four lakh rupees, two iPhones, two Android mobiles, and a deck of cards. The said occurrence took place at Satkar Guest House, which is found in the City Center, where the five gamblers were staking their money.
That is why the idea of the Crime Branch was concerned with the information that Room No. 104 of Satkar Guest House was used for gambling; the Crime Branch immediately searched the place. Thus, during the raid, five people were arrested. The police also took action with Lav Khandelwal, the owner of the guest house where the gamblers were arrested. To date, six people have been charged under the Gambling Act, and other cases are still under investigation.
The items seized were four lakh twenty thousand rupees in cash, along with two iPhones, two Android phones, and a deck of cards. This shows that the crime branch has acted promptly by seizing premises involved in unlawful gambling in the area.
This particular operation demonstrates the fact that the Crime Branch is ready and willing to uphold the law.
