The Congress protesters, carrying black flags, attempted to march towards the Chief Minister’s residence. The police however encountered them during their journey. They had to resort to the deployment of water cannons when the protesters displayed reluctance to disperse. The female Congress worker suffered a significant head injury, and Monu Saxena was also seriously injured. Saxena was subsequently taken to the hospital in a police vehicle. A large number of Congress workers had gathered, demanding the cancellation of the exam and a judicial inquiry into the matter.
Former Union Minister Arun Yadav raised questions regarding the results of the Group 2 Sub Group 4 examination and alleged irregularities. He highlighted that merely changing the name of Vyapam (the state’s infamous examination-rigging scandal) does not prevent scams, emphasizing the need for action.
Yadav also alleged irregularities in the patwari and other recruitment posts. He released a list of top-ranking candidates and questioned how 10 out of 7 toppers hailed from NRI College in Gwalior. Yadav further highlighted discrepancies, such as toppers signing in Hindi while receiving full marks in English. He claimed that 1,000 candidates were selected from NRI College, out of a total of 9,000 candidates selected statewide.
The protests and allegations by the Congress party have intensified the scrutiny surrounding the Patwari recruitment exam, prompting demands for a thorough investigation into the irregularities.
