Ujjain: In connection with Somvati Amavasya on Monday, the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav, today paid obeisance at the Temple of Lord Mahakaleshwar at Ujjain. Joined by his wife, the Chief Minister did puja and rituals in the temple before seeking the blessings of Lord Mahakaleshwar. Written by Vipul, the puja was performed by Pandit Rajesh Guru, who simplified the procedure and patiently guided the rituals.
After the worship, the ceremonial function was held in the Nandi Hall of the Mahakaleshwar Temple, presided by Neeraj Kumar Singh, the Chairman of the Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee and the District Collector, who honoured and presented a traditional shawl and a coconut to Dr Yadav. This hand gesture depicts the fact that the temple wants to show its humble acceptance of the presence of the Chief Minister.
The Shri Vriddha Kaleshwar (Juna Mahakaleshwar) Temple and the Shri Anadi Kalpeshwar Temple are also situated in the sikhara akhara of the building, which comprises the main temple of Mahakaleshwar and Dr. Yadav also offered his respects here. He offered prayers at such ancient temples and was on a spree of worshipping within the temple complex.
It may be depicted that after the Chief Minister visited the city, several other personalities involved in the state administration like the MLA of Anil Jain Kaluheda, Sanjay Agarwal IG Santosh Kumar Singh, DIG Navneet Bhasin, District Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh, the Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma, the CEO of the District Panchayat Jayati Singh and the Administrator of Mahakaleshwar Temple These officials came a gathering that showed the significance of such an event and respect that the people have to the Mahakaleshwar Temple.
This visit also made clear that Somvati Amavasya had much to do with the cultural and spiritual history of Madhya Pradesh, the Mahakaleshwar Temple of immense importance to millions of worshippers.
