Bhopal. The 42nd National Rowing Championship is going to be organized from March 3 to March 7 at the Madhya Pradesh State Water Sports Academy, Boat Club located at Bada Talab in the capital Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the competition on March 3. On the occasion of the inauguration of the competition, the players of Madhya Pradesh State Water Sports Academy will give a special presentation of rowing, kayaking-canoeing, sailing and slalom sports.
On this occasion, sports lovers will get to see the wonderful view of water sports. About 500 participants from 25 states will participate in the championship. In which there will be a total of 14 events of rowing. This championship will provide an opportunity to the top rowers of the country to showcase their talent.
The 42nd National Rowing Championships will feature various events under Senior Men’s, Senior Women’s and Para Rowing disciplines. All events will be held over a distance of 2000 metres. The Senior Men’s category includes Single Sculls (M1X), Double Sculls (M2X), Coxless Pairs (M2-), Coxless Fours (M4-), Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls (LM2X), Open Double Sculls (M2X – Civilian), Coxless Fours (M4- – Civilian), Quadruple Sculls (M4X) and Coxed Eights (M8+).
The Senior Women’s category will feature Single Sculls (W1X), Double Sculls (W2X), Coxless Pairs (W2-), Coxless Fours (W4-), Lightweight Women’s Double Sculls (LW2X), Quadruple Sculls (W4X) and Coxed Eights (W8+). The Para rowing events will feature Para Men’s Single Scull (PR3M1X) and Para Women’s Single Scull (PR3W1X).
