One of the biggest political scandals has arisen in Madhya Pradesh, after Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar allegedly declared that tribals were not Hindus. The statement has caused sharp reactions on both ends of the political spectrum with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav taking a very harsh swipe at the Congress party.

In a reply to the comment, CM Yadav has alleged that the Congress has always opposed Hindus and Hindutva. He wanted the Congress party to apologize over such a statement, which he termed as both insensitive and divisive. Dr. Yadav continued by saying that this is not the first occasion that the leaders of the Congress had made fun of or slandered the core of Hindus. He remembered the way Rahul Gandhi had earlier mocked Hindutva, and leaders like Mani Shankar Aiyar have frequently come up with their own bizarre theories.

The Chief Minister also referred to examples of how leaders such as Stalin and Reddy have gone as far as equating Sanatan Dharma to diseases such as dengue and mosquitoes. He added that, now that the Leader of Opposition is implying that the tribals are not a part of Hinduism, the matter has hit a new bottom. Yadav said it was disgraceful to express his disappointment. Political arguments are welcome but doubting the principles of Hindutva is something that people will never forgive.

To emphasize that this is a serious matter, he cautioned that the people of Madhya Pradesh and India are keeping a keen eye and they would not accept such utterances meant against their religion. It is precisely due to these consistent attacks on the beliefs and traditions of the Hindu that the Congress party is meeting downfall after downfall, according to him. CM Mohan Yadav also concluded by calling upon the Congress leadership to introspect its actions, acknowledge its errors, and apologize to the people about the comments that it had made against Hindutva.
