Ujjain: Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr Mohan Yadav, in the auspicious event of Navratri, attended a number of Garba festivals in Ujjain late in the night on Tuesday. The citizens and the devotees welcomed him as soon as he reached the places. The Chief Minister had some prayers with Goddess Durga, danced to some traditional music and wished people of the state a prosperous, peaceful and healthy life.

Dr Yadav has added that Navratri is a festival of worship and also a festival of cultural and coexistence. He stressed that Garba and Dandiya gatherings enhanced positive social relations and generated motivation within the communities. Many men, women, young people and children in colourful traditional clothes participated in Garba performances. The musicians on stage sang devotional songs and folk music, and the audience gave thunderous applause. The Chief Minister appreciated the organisers, saying that through these events, traditions are preserved and the future generations are recognised with their cultural background.

Bhai Dooj- Ladli Behnas 1500 Monthly Aid

The Chief Minister initially attended a gathering arranged by the Alakh organisation at the Dalda Ground in Pandharkhedi, in which he announced the grant of 2 lakh to the organisers. He later attended the Garba party of the Shri Mahakal Youth Club at Nagjhiri. He told the audience that the construction and management of the houses of the saints in Hamu Khedi Tekri were being properly arranged. He also declared that henceforth, beginning with Bhai Dooj following Diwali, 1500 each month would be deposited into the bank accounts of the Ladli Behna beneficiaries.

After that, Dr Mohan Yadav attended the Navrang Dandiya festival, which was arranged by Kalidas Academy of Sanjay Agrawal, Mukesh Yadav, Abhay Yadav and others. He told me that Dandiya festivities are representative of the spirit of coexistence.
