Bhopal: In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, the demolition work of the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) corridor has commenced between Bairagarh and Lalghati bus stand. The Chief Minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav, directed the initiation of breaking the BRTS corridor from January 20. The dismantling of the BRTS corridor’s barriers will take place after 11 p.m. The Public Works Department and Municipal Corporation will collaboratively carry out the work of demolishing the BRTS corridor.
Following the Chief Minister’s instructions, the district administration will remove the barriers of the BRTS corridor. The process will begin from Bairagarh (Sant Hirdaram Nagar). The 24-kilometer long BRTS corridor experiences high traffic on both sides during the day. Hence, the decision to start the dismantling work during the night when traffic is relatively low. The removal work is set to begin on Saturday night.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, after reviewing a presentation on Wednesday, directed the district administration to remove the corridor. The initial focus will be on the stretch from Bairagarh to Lalghati. The entire project to dismantle the corridor from Misrod to MP Nagar, Roshanpura to Kamla Park, and the Collectorate to Lalghati is estimated to cost approximately 18.51 crore INR. The decision to undertake the removal work at night aims to minimize disruption to daytime traffic. The administration is keen on completing the project efficiently and ensuring smooth traffic flow during the day.
