Bhopal: CM Chouhan inaugurates the 104th annual convention of the Indian Economic Association today at 10:30 am. The conference organised by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis will be held from December 25th to 27th at the Academy of Administration, Bhopal. Prof. Ramesh Chand, a member of NITI Aayog, will preside over the lecture on “Economic Revitalization: “Challenges and Policy Choices” in the first session on December 25th from 2 to 3:45 pm. Also, subject experts will deliver lectures in sessions on “Agriculture for Growth and Sustainable Development” and “Manufacturing: Startups and MSMEs”.
The session “Pandemic, Public Health and Good Governance in India” will be presided over by Prof. DK Nauriyal, former Vice-Chancellor of Kumaun University, Nainital from 4:15 pm to 5:45 pm on the same day. There will be PR Brahmananda Memorial Lecture from 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm. The programme will be presided over by NITI Aayog member Prof. Ramesh Chand. There will be a special lecture on Sunday, December 26th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. The session will be presided over by Prof NK Taneja, Vice-Chancellor, CCS University, Meerut. In the session, Dr Avnidhar Subramaniam of UCLA Anderson School of Management Los Angeles (USA) and former Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India, Prof. Arvind Birmani will deliver a lecture on “Economic Reforms and Inclusive Growth in the Indian Context: Past, Present and Future”.
The session “International Trade and Investment: Emerging Dynamics” was chaired by Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, Vice Chairman, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis from 10:30 am to 11:45 am. Prof. Charan Singh presided over the theme session “Indian Economic Thinking: History Models and Thought Leaders” from 12 noon to 1:30 pm. The session “Economy of Madhya Pradesh” will be presided over by Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, Vice Chairman, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. There will be a special session on “Innovations and Data with Focus on Sustainable Economy” from 5 to 6:30 pm on the same day. Subject experts will deliver lectures in all sessions.
