Bhopal: Elections will be held in all the 413 urban bodies of the state in two phases July 6th and July 13th. The State election commission announced the dates on Wednesday, bringing the model code of conduct in force all across the state.
There are 16 municipal corporations, 99 municipalities and 298 town councils bound for the polls. There will be direct election for mayor. Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior are among the 11 municipal corporations in the first phase on July 6th. The others are Khandwa, Burhanpur, Chhindwara, Ujjain, Sagar, Singrauli and Satna.
The remaining five corporations — Rewa, Katni, Ratlam, Dewasand Morena – will go to the polls on July 13th. Nominations can be filed from June 11th to June 18th, state election commissioner, Basant Pratap Singh said.” Results of the first phase will be announced on July 17th and of the second phase on July 18th.” he said.
