The first phase of the Lok Sabha election 2024, scheduled on 19th April, is fast approaching. In Madhya Pradesh, among the 6 seats that will be cast for in the first round of voting is the Central part. Whereas none other, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has declared their fourth list with 6 candidate names for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh MP Lok Sabha election, as it is known.

The party has chosen B.P Bhagwati from the Sagar parliamentary constituency. Vidyuth K Ladiya from Vidisha, Chouhan Rajendra Chukotya from Dewas, and Dhoom Singh Mandloi from Dhar, to name a few, have been selected to represent the party. Munna Lal Teji from Khandwa has been chosen as candidates Amongst other things, one of the most recent developments was the coming out of the party’s third list which had 7 candidates itself. The list comprised Nagarayan Tripathi, an ex-MLA, who was selected to Satna, Kamlesh Patel representing Khajuraho, Pukajan Ram Saket (Sanjekar) from Sidhi, Inder Singh Uikey from Mandla, Umakant Bandev from Chhindwara, and Khanhaya Lal MEV (Michels) from Mandsaur On the other hand, the passing away of Ashok Bhalavi, the Betul candidate on Tuesday, further disrupted this normalcy.

BSP’s efforts to strut its stuff prior to the elections in Madhya Pradesh is a distinctive strategic plan of BSP. Regional candidates nominated by the party reflect its efforts to widen the election circle that stretches to the far-flung corners of the state. The names of these contestants would likely be the bell that signals the time of rising political activity, with the election looming extremely close on the calendar.

The death of Ashok Bhalavi, a candidate for the BSP, in keeping a few days after the nominations, is a cause for worry for the BSP. It emphasizes the vagaries around the electoral process and obstacles that political parties have during elections. Betul constituency will demand the party to review its current strategy and develop a suitable candidate selection. This unforeseen turn of events in the competitive world of electoral politics further emphasizes the dynamic and the need for parties to change tactics promptly to navigate the unpredictable waters.
