Jabalpur: In Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, today, the BSNL Employees’ Union staged a protest at the tehsil square, voicing 12 demands. The union alleges the negligence of the Jabalpur management, leading to disruptions and closures in BSNL services. According to the union, BSNL towers remain inactive for 10 days at a stretch due to management’s indifference. Despite this, the management purportedly pays no heed to the issue.
The union further accuses BSNL of swift disconnections of its connections, affecting consumers adversely. Allegedly, the management shows little concern for improving consumer services. Additionally, the union claims that transfers of employees are being conducted irregularly, disrupting the organization’s functioning. The improper handling of transfers, according to union leaders, is contributing to the breakdown of BSNL’s administrative efficiency.
The union leaders assert that the lack of electricity in rural areas is causing distress to employees. They highlight the challenges faced by BSNL workers due to the absence of proper infrastructure in rural regions. The union emphasizes that if their demands are not met in the near future, they will resort to intense agitation, including the possibility of launching a hunger strike.
The employees’ union calls attention to the deteriorating state of BSNL’s services and the impact on both employees and consumers. They urge the management to address their grievances promptly to ensure the smooth functioning of BSNL and the welfare of its workforce. The threat of escalated protests, including the prospect of a hunger strike, adds urgency to the union’s call for immediate action.
As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the BSNL management responds to the union’s allegations and whether a resolution can be reached to restore normalcy to the telecom services provided by the state-owned company in Jabalpur and beyond.
