Burhanpur: Following the Legislative Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, preparations for the Lok Sabha elections have commenced. In the midst of this, BJP legislators from Burhanpur, disgruntled over not receiving tickets in the Assembly elections, have organized a meeting in the name of a Diwali get-together to strategize for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In preparation for the Lok Sabha elections, three sitting MLAs—Sumitra Kasdekar from Nepanagar, Devendra Varma from Khandwa, and Ram Dagore from Pandhana—have started their groundwork. They have convened a meeting under the pretext of a Diwali celebration to discuss and formulate strategies for the Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, there is reportedly strong opposition to the leadership of MP Jyotiraditya Scindia.
In the meeting, former MLA Dhulsingh, former MLA Hiteshndra Singh Solanki from Badwah Assembly constituency, former MLA Dhulsingh Davar from Bhikangaon, Rajesh Dongre (Former District President, Khandwa – Burhanpur), Purushottam Sharma (Former District President, Khandwa – Burhanpur), Gopichand Sharma (Former Mayor of Khandwa), Rahul Mehta (Vice President, BJP Khandwa), senior leader Dr. Dulechand Chopra from Sanawad, youth leader Vijay Bahadur Singh Lokendra Singh Tomar, Kailash Rathore Khandwa, and Kailash Patidar (Former Chairman, District Cooperative Bank) were present.
The disgruntled legislators are using this gathering to voice their opposition to the leadership of Member of Parliament Jyotiraditya Patil, and it is speculated that this dissent may have implications for the party’s unity in the region. The situation highlights the internal dynamics and challenges faced by political parties in managing discontent within their ranks, especially in the run-up to crucial elections.
