Khandwa: The last phase of the Lok Sabha election in Madhya Pradesh on May 13 is just around the corner with the frenzied campaigning, switches of loyalty, and issues of the states. Certainly, the BJP redeems Congressmen very commonly. However, this is something that does not usually happen in Khandwa. Seeing that, the social media in charge of the Congress was back in the party 24 hours after being expelled.

Yesterday, in the presence of former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Singota, Congress’s social media in-charge, Gurpreet Singh had joined the BJP. However, today, after being persuaded by opposition leader Mallu Ratothar and former Union Minister Arun Yadav, Gurpreet rejoined the Congress. Arun Yadav and local Congress leaders facilitated Gurpreet’s return to the party.

Analyzing that equation, Gurpreet Singh talked about his recent decision, and in his words stated, “Yesterday, I became a BJP member, but after leaving, I felt sorry that I had left my home. I spent the whole night sleepless. I somehow became sad when I left my house. However, my leader, Arun Yadav, told me to rejoin the Congress, so I did that. The next day in Congress intruded me with the idea that I had taken my way wrongly and had no choice but to leave the day after; now, I returned to Congress and rejoined it within 24 hours.”

Gurpreet Singh’s swift return underscores the fluidity of political allegiances and the complexities within party dynamics, especially during election periods. His candid admission of regret highlights the personal turmoil often experienced by individuals amidst the turbulence of political realignments.

As the Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh draw closer to their conclusion, such instances of last-minute shifts may continue to shape the political landscape, adding layers of intrigue and uncertainty to the electoral process.
