In the capital of the Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, traffic advisory has been issued because the work on the metro will involve significant diversion of major routes during nighttime between 24 and 4 December. The officials state that the changes will be imposed on a weekly basis with every night (11:00 PM-6:00 AM) the main road between Karond and Lambakheda Road (CIAE Campus) will be closed temporarily owing to the launching of metro girder.
To facilitate the ease of movement, the traffic police has declared alternative routes that should use both light and heavy vehicles. In front of BHMRC Hospital, two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and others moving towards Lambakheda will be diverted, and they may move along this road in both directions.
In the meantime, the diversion route has been assigned to the heavy vehicles and buses. The cars commuting between Karond and Lambakheda will have to use the route via Cheepdbakala to Bhanpur or traverse through Acharpura Meena Square → Asharam Bapu Tiraha using the specific diversion routes provided by the government. These are some of the measures meant to ensure that there is no congestion and safety is maintained in the area of construction of the metro.
The authorities have made it clear that the movement at night will be greatly impacted as some major roads will be completely or partly shut so that the installation of metro structures can be safely done. The commuters are thus encouraged to make their plans on travelling.
The Traffic police have urged all motorists to abide by the laid down alternative routes without fail in order to avoid inconvenience and make sure that things run smoothly. They also called on drivers to observe lookouts and traffic barricades, as well as on-ground traffic guards who would be in the diversion areas. The advisory belongs to the continuous attempts of the city to develop the metro connectivity in order to avoid the disturbance of the usual traffic flow.
