Bhopal: Following the Chhindwara cough syrup scandal in Madhya Pradesh, an investigation has revealed a major revelation. Two more cough syrups could prove fatal for children. Among these, the cough syrups ReLife and Respifresh-Tr, manufactured in Gujarat, could be fatal for children.

In fact, three of the 19 cough syrups sampled from drugstores could prove fatal for children. Test reports found diethylene glycol levels exceeding 0.01 percent in three of the cough syrups. These syrups pose a risk of kidney failure and brain damage in children.

ColdRif Cough Syrup has been banned in Uttar Pradesh. Following Tamil Nadu, the sale of this syrup has now been banned in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand, and Kerala. The syrup has so far claimed the lives of 10 children in Madhya Pradesh and one in Rajasthan. The Uttar Pradesh Food Safety and Drug Administration Department has ordered testing of ColdRif Syrup. They have also ordered samples of the cough syrup to be collected from medical stores and hospitals and have ordered a ban on its distribution.

Shri Sun Company director is absconding

 Coldrif cough syrup, manufactured by Srisan Pharmaceuticals in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, caused kidney infections in several children, leading to their subsequent deaths. The director of Shri Sun Company, which manufactured poisonous cough syrup, has absconded. When the company was legally closed in 2009, it was restarted after changing its name. The Tamil Nadu company which manufactured cough syrup was producing it by ignoring all the standards. The syrup was manufactured in a small factory located in Kanchipuram. The factory operated in an area of ​​2000 square feet. More than 60 products were manufactured in this deadly factory. Many equipments in the deadly cough syrup factory are rusted.
