Jabalpur: In the Katangi police jurisdiction, Bajrang Dal activists intercepted a truck filled with cattle. Upon inspection, they found nearly 80 cattle crammed into the truck, which agitated them, leading to vandalism by the Bajrang Dal activists.

Upon receiving information, the Katangi police swiftly arrived at the scene. They filed a case regarding the incident, confiscating the truck laden with cattle and transporting it to the Katangi police station. Currently, all the cattle are housed in the Katangi cow shelter.

It has been reported that the cattle were being transported from Damoh district to Maharashtra via Singraampur on the Jabalpur route. However, the truck was intercepted on the Katangi bypass. The police are investigating the truck’s ownership and the reasons behind the cattle being transported from Damoh to Maharashtra.

The interception of the truck has sparked controversy and raised questions about the legality and ethics of cattle transportation. Animal rights activists have condemned the cramped conditions in which the cattle were being transported, highlighting concerns about animal welfare and proper handling during transportation.

Meanwhile, representatives of the Bajrang Dal have defended their actions, stating that they intervened to prevent animal cruelty and illegal transportation of cattle. They have demanded a thorough investigation into the matter to hold those responsible for the mistreatment of the animals accountable.

The incident has also reignited debates surrounding the protection of cows, which hold religious significance for many communities in India. Advocates for cow protection argue for stricter regulations to prevent the illegal transportation and slaughter of cows. In contrast, others emphasize the need for humane treatment of all animals, irrespective of religious beliefs.

As the investigation progresses, authorities are expected to uncover more details about the individuals and organizations involved in the transportation of cattle, shedding light on the broader issue of animal welfare and law enforcement in the region.
