Damoh: In another setback, for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh more than 100 BJP members have officially joined the Indian National Congress. This significant shift towards the Congress happened in the presence of Congress candidate Ajay Tandon following the departure of Ramashankar Tiwari, an associate of former minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who left the BJP to join the Congress.

The village of Laxmankuti in Damoh became witness to this development as a group consisting of over 100 BJP workers decided to switch their allegiance and align themselves with the Congress party. This move reflects the changing landscape leading up to the assembly elections scheduled for November 17th in Madhya Pradesh.

As we approach the elections there has been a series of shifts and realignments among party leaders and workers. These defections indicate that not only political leaders but also grassroots party members are expressing their dissatisfaction by choosing to leave one party and join another.

Damoh district, like regions in Madhya Pradesh, is experiencing political activities and changes in loyalties as parties prepare for the upcoming elections. These transformations, within party dynamics highlight how Indian politics is constantly evolving and emphasise the role played by leaders and workers in shaping electoral outcomes.

The 2023 Madhya Pradesh legislative assembly elections are expected to be closely contested, and these developments reflect the ongoing political manoeuvring and realignments as parties vie for voter support in the Madhya Pradesh elections.
