Bhopal: Late at night, the All India Students’ Association (AISA) surrounded the Gandhi Nagar police station, escalating tensions in the area. The atmosphere outside the station was charged as ABVP activists, seated in a protest, raised slogans vehemently. The ABVP activists were demanding stringent action against those found guilty in a corruption scandal.

The AISA activists accused the police of shielding the corrupt individuals, highlighting what they perceived as a systemic issue of corruption within the law enforcement agencies. Despite their demands, only one of the five accused has been apprehended so far. The activists allege that the delay in arresting the remaining accused is due to their intention to flee the country.

The corruption scandal, involving an amount close to a crore, has rocked the Rajiv Gandhi Technological University. Among the five individuals named in the FIR, Sunil Kumar, the Registrar of the university, is a prominent figure. The revelation of the scandal has resulted in the removal of all implicated individuals from their positions, including Sunil Kumar.

The protest outside the police station reflects the growing frustration among the youth regarding corruption and the perceived lack of accountability within the system. It also underscores the divide between student activists and the authorities, with both sides standing firm on their positions.

The situation remains tense as both groups continue to assert their demands. The ABVP activists are adamant about justice being served swiftly, while the AISA activists are determined to ensure that the accused do not evade legal consequences. The outcome of this standoff will likely have broader implications for the student community and the fight against corruption in the entire region.
