Bhopal: An old case of a car recovered with 52 kilograms of gold and crores of rupees in cash remains opened in the capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, daily revelations continue. In this, it has been learnt that Saurabh Sharma, an accused in the case and the former RTO constable who is declared by three investigating agencies as the most wanted accused, may surrender soon. It has been reported that Saurabh Sharma might be producing his wife before the Lokayukta. Rumours have it that the two could be planning to jet down to India base from Dubai to stand trial.
If Saurabh Sharma appears before the Lokayukta, he is expected to be arrested on the spot by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). At present, he has a lookout notice issued against him by the ED and a notice was also received from the Lokayukta. This came after there were raids in relation to this case. Lokayukta conducted a search operation at Saurabh Sharma’s residence on December 19, and the ED conducted a search operation on December 27.
The case has attracted a lot of attention because of the high-value products at stake and Saurabh Sharma accused of financial fraud. The gold and cash recovered have raised eyebrows as to probable crime link-ups, and efforts are being made to fill in all the missing links.
