Jabalpur: Three people including a private ambulance owner were booked for unintentional murder and parking of private ambulances at government hospitals were banned after a woman died following alleged misbehaviour by an ambulance owner and his accomplices. The incident took place at Netaji Subash Bose Medical College and Hospital, Jabalpur.
A youth identified as Hemraj was thrashed by a private ambulance owner and his accomplices allegedly after he helped kin of another patient to get an ambulance at rates cheaper than that of the accused. The elderly mother of Hemraj who was also present during the commotion got shocked and later died during treatment.
Police have booked three persons and had also sought CCTV footage from the hospital administration informed that the cameras are out of order. Meanwhile, following district collectors’ order in this regards chief medical and health officer, Jabalpur, Dr Ratnesh Kuraria has issued orders for banning the parking of private ambulances at the district hospital.
