Indore: Preparations are in full swing for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, scheduled for January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to inaugurate the grand event. The fervor surrounding the Ram Temple’s consecration is not limited to Ayodhya alone; it has ignited enthusiasm in Madhya Pradesh as well. In a unique thread of the narrative related to Lord Ram, an extraordinary Ram Name Bank is operating in Indore’s Sneh Lata Ganj, where copies inscribed with the name of Lord Ram are deposited.

This unconventional bank engages in the practice of collecting copies with the written name of Lord Ram, and these accumulated copies are treated as a form of deposit. The process, rooted in religious sentiment, involves depositors using these copies for religious pilgrimages or, alternatively, utilizing them to pay school fees for their children. Notably, the city boasts the tallest statue of Lord Hanuman, referred to as Pitr Parvat, and it has received a substantial donation of 15 crore copies inscribed with the name of Lord Ram.

Lakshman Sonagir, the custodian of this unique Ram Name Bank, shares that the inspiration to write the name of Lord Ram struck him after a divine encounter with his mother. Since then, he has been actively writing the name himself and encouraging others to contribute copies to the bank. With a newfound commitment, Lakshman Sonagir aims to transport 21 crore copies of the Ram Name to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He has already held discussions with his son, Vijay Sonagir, who is the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, to facilitate the arrangement of these copies in the temple.

The endeavor has garnered widespread attention and support, aligning with the broader sentiment of devotion and reverence for Lord Ram. As the preparations unfold and the unique initiative gains momentum, it underscores the deeply rooted spiritual significance attached to the Ram Temple and the symbolic gesture of offering 21 crore copies of the sacred name in Ayodhya. The convergence of religious fervor and civic engagement reflects the profound impact of the Ram Temple on the collective consciousness of the people in Madhya Pradesh and beyond.
