Alirajpur: A case of gang rape of a woman has come to the fore in the district jail premises. The Ajak police arrested two guards after registering a case under the Prevention of Atrocities Act and Scheduled Castes, Tribes Atrocities Act and produced them in the court, from where they have been sent to Jobat sub-jail in judicial custody.
Ajak DSP Aditya Singh Thakur said that the victim and her husband were arrested by the Barwani police in connection with the fake marriage. During Corona, both the prisoners were shifted from Thikri in Barwani to Alirajpur District Jail. The woman got parole about 5 months ago. During this, she remained out of jail. On the day of the incident, the woman had come to the jail to meet her husband.
The sentinel found Anil Trivedi and took him to his quarters in the premises itself, asking to give some medical documents. The accused Virendra Yadav was already present here. It is alleged that both of them gang-raped the woman by threatening her. After this, he said that if he told anyone about the incident, he would kill him.
Apart from this, her husband including the woman will not be allowed to live in peace in the jail. The victim is a Scheduled Tribe, so the police have registered a case against both the accused under section 376 of excesses and also under the SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act.
