Ujjain. Around 15 students of Kasturba Gandhi Girls Hostel in Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh suddenly fell ill. All of them complained of burning sensation in the eyes and cough and were admitted to the community center. Seeing the serious condition of 5 students, they were referred to Ujjain District Hospital, where all of them have been admitted to the ICU. Doctors said that everyone is out of danger and their health is improving.
Five of the 15 affected girls from the Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ Hostel in Mahidpur have been referred to the Ujjain District Hospital as a precautionary measure. The medical team is continuously monitoring their condition. Of the four referred girls, one is said to be in critical condition, while the rest have been admitted to the ICU.
Rachna Chaudhary, a student, said that after eating, she and other students smelled a strong chili-like odor inside the room, which led to coughing and vomiting. According to Rachna, a smoke-like or earthy smell was also observed, making the situation even more mysterious. The administration and medical team say that all the students will soon recover and they are thoroughly investigating the matter.
