Bhopal: For this year at least, farmers should not face any problem in selling their paddy or coarse grains for this, the government has made round preparations. There are more procurement centres formed to facilitate the farmers. For paddy, a total of 1412 centers have been earmarked, and for procurement of coarse grains like jowar and bajra, 104 centers have been established. The acquisition of jowar and bajra will be started from Nov 22, while for Paddy it will start from Dec 02.
Some districts have realized the establishment of several procurement centers to serve the farmers within the region. The centers have been opened in Balaghat at 185, Satna at 144, Jabalpur at 125, Rewa at 123, Seoni at 99, Katni at 84, Mandla at 67, Narmadapuram at 65, Singrauli at 58, Shahdol at 55, Panna at 47, Narsinghpur at 45, Sidhi at
Other centers have been added in Damoh 33, Dindori 31, Raisen 25, Sagar 24, Sehore 17, Betul 17, Chhindwara 9, Shivpuri 8, Bhind 7, Datia 7, Gwalior 6 and Harda 3. There is one centre in Vidisha, Morena, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Guna, Bhopal and Ashoknagar, where, as two, Bomakal belongs to the Morena district.
In the same way, procurement centers for jowar and bajra have been made for these grains. Relating to the number of study centers Rewa has 2, Singrauli 3, Bhind twenty, Datia 4, Gwalior 12 and Morena 51. Other sub-centres for coarse-grain procurement include Narmadapuram, Shahdol, Panna, Narsinghpur, Sidhi, Sagar, Betul, Shivpuri, Vidisha, Barwani, Burhanpur and Sheopur.
These arrangements demonstrate the government’s promises to provide a hassle-free crop procurement platform and must come as a huge relief for the farming community.
