Kolkata: During the investigation of the heinous crime of rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, the entire nation is on the edge. However, in view of the above-mentioned unfortunate incident, various RDAs are holding a joint dharna on the coming Friday, the 16th of August. The march is proposed to start at 2 PM from Nirman Bhavan, in the national capital.

Also, the Delhi Medical Association (DMA) held a meeting on Thursday given the heinous act. The association has planned to organize a candle march to India Gate on the same day at 5:00 PM to pay tribute to the victims and to protest for justice.

The heinous offence has created a public outcry, with nurses and the general population demanding a Non-partisan inquiry. Till now, 19 people have been arrested in the case of the aftermath of destruction at RG Kar Medical College, where the 31-year-old trainee doctor was found dead. Of them, five suspects were nabbed with the help of feedback on social media, the Kolkata police added. “If you know or have seen any of the above suspects in our previous post(s), pls let us know,” Kolkata police once again said on X (formerly Twitter) as they are still appealing to the public to provide information on the suspects.

Like the gruesome crime committed before, it has led to the emergence of major protests all over the country. The doctors have insisted that the police investigate the matter to the letter and condemn and severely punish those people. The situation has also brought much concern to the chief minister of the West Bengal state, who said she will be leading a rally this Saturday, 17 August. The rally to be held in Kolkata – Moulali to Dharmtala – is to seek justice for the victim.
