AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday addressed a public meeting in Rewari where he levelled sever slurs against the BJP-led central government. He testified that in Tihar Jail attempts were made to ‘’bust’’ him psychologically as well as physically. He stated this as a challenge for all to know that they nearly paraded me through the hell on earth while I was in jail.
Kejriwal, who has diabetes ailment that has been managed by four injections of insulin every day, was not given his insulin while in jail. But those who wanted to break me do not know that I am from Haryana.” The word ‘Haryanvi’ rang out loud and clear in the courtroom as he announced: You can’t break a person from Haryana. He was released from Tihar Jail on September 13 this year after being bailed out by the Supreme Court in a Central Bureau of Investigation CBI matter connected with the so-called excise policy scandal, following five months in jail.
Speaking at another rally in Badshahpur, Kejriwal responded to Modi, saying the prime minister was attacking him because of the political success in Delhi and Punjab. PM Modi thought that like in Delhi and Punjab, I would form a government in Haryana said Kejriwal, pointing out that the central government was trying to scuttle his welfare programmes.
He boasted he created 500 mohalla clinics in Delhi, why can’t Prime Minister concentrate on developing health facilities than deteriorating already existing ones? Instead of you seeking to close my clinics, it would be more productive if you could develop five thousand clinics, he replied. Kejriwal also criticised government’s proposal of shut down 700 schools, saying, “This kind of attitude does NOT suit the Prime Minister of this country.” Therefore, the statement made by Kejriwal during the run up to the Haryana Assembly elections should be seen as making appropriate attempts at mobilisation.
