Rejecting Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s allegation of the BJP offering ₹50 crore to Congress MLAs for defection ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Leader of Opposition R. Ashoka asserted that his party has not made any such attempts. Addressing the media, Ashoka accused Siddaramaiah of fabricating the notion of ‘Operation Kamala’ to divert attention from Congress’ anticipated electoral defeat. He emphasized the BJP’s commitment to stability and dismissed claims of initiating any destabilizing activities.

In a separate development, BJP’s state chief BY Vijayendra inaugurated a media centre as part of the party’s preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Asserting the widespread support for Prime Minister Modi, Vijayendra highlighted BJP’s vision for India’s development and emphasized Karnataka’s pivotal role in the BJP’s southern expansion.

Reflecting on the previous election results, Vijayendra noted the BJP’s dominant performance, securing 25 out of 28 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, despite the Congress-JD(S) alliance. The party aims to replicate its success and ensure Modi’s re-election.

Former Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai, reiterated the BJP’s objective of reinstating Modi as Prime Minister. Campaigning for BJP candidate Pralhad Joshi in Hubballi, Bommai emphasized the need for continued support to achieve this goal. He urged party members to intensify efforts and secure a significant victory margin for Joshi.

Pralhad Joshi, a seasoned BJP leader, is contesting for the Dharwad Lok Sabha constituency for the fifth consecutive term. Known as a stronghold for the BJP since 1996, Dharwad has consistently favored Joshi, highlighting his track record of electoral success.

With the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 scheduled in seven phases, beginning on April 19 and Karnataka voting in two phases on April 26 and May 7, the political landscape in the state is poised for significant developments. The BJP’s campaign strategy, focused on Modi’s leadership and local representation, underscores its determination to consolidate its position in Karnataka’s electoral arena.
