On Friday, IndiGo, India’s leading airline, announced the introduction of a new non-stop flight between Bengaluru and Riyadh, effective November 16. The airline stated in an official statement that the route would be operated on the Airbus A320 to provide customers with an efficient and comfortable option for affordable travel between the cities.

With the launch of a new node of connectivity, Riyadh would become the second city in Saudi Arabia, after Jeddah, to be directly connected to India’s tech capital in Bengaluru. The Bengaluru–Riyadh route also serves IndiGo’s expansion into international markets while improving connectivity for both business and leisure travelers.

With this new service, IndiGo now connects India to four key cities in Saudi Arabia, Dammam, Jeddah, Riyadh, and Madinah, contributing to a growing international presence across the Middle East. The airline also stated that the new route supports its long-term goal of supporting growing travel demand to and from India and Saudi Arabia that have resulted from growing business partnerships, mobility of labor, and trade and tourism.

According to Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales, the announcement is indicative of the investments the airline is making to enhance international connectivity and improves India’s overall opportunity for global travel networks.
