IMD has warned of heavy rains over several parts of Tamil Nadu, announcing that the wet weather will continue until March 13. On Tuesday, March 12, isolated places in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi and Thoothukudi districts are likely to receive heavy downpour, according to the latest IMD bulletin.

Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on March 10 and 11, is being expected: IMD. On Friday, weather conditions are also similar for Lakshadweep, which is also likely to experience such weather on March 11 and 12.

Considering March 11 to 13, the bulletin further mentioned that there will be isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning in Kerala & Mahe as well as coastal and south interior Karnataka. The next seven days will also bring scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall to other regions such as the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Weather Forecast for March 10-13

Coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal is likely to receive light to moderate rainfall and isolated thunderstorms and lightning over interior Tamil Nadu on March 10.

Rainfall will spread to Lakshadweep from March 11-12, and scattered showers and thundershowers are probable over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is likely over Mahe, Kerala, coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka from March 11th to 13th.

In areas where the rain falls heavily, localized flooding and disruptions are possible, residents in affected regions are advised to take precautions. The situation is being closely monitored by authorities in order to prepare for what may occur as well as take caution for future actions.
