Officials said the formation ceremony of the third BJP government in Haryana will likely be held next week in Panchkula on Friday. It is planned to be held on October 15, but the official information is still being discussed, while the Minister of Panchkula, Dr. Yash Garg, confirmed the preparation for the event. The IOA chief said, ‘We are setting up the venue for the event,’ to a news agency. A separate committe headed by DC has been constituted to supervise the preparation for the grand functionary, which may be pregnant by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, top BJP leadership, and CMs of BJP-ruled states.
The party has recently got a new president, Nayab Singh Saini, who took the chief minister’s seat, replacing Manohar Lal Khattar in March this year and is believed to remain in that position. Saini took the party to victory in the assembly elections held on October 5. Earlier in in the polls, the BJP had signaled that Saini would be their face for the chief minister post if the party won. The tally of votes was held on October 8, which stated that BJP had won the seat, though there were indications of strong anti-incumbency sentiments and exit polls that portrayed Congress as a landslide victory.
The BJP clinched 48 in the 90-member assembly, up from 40 in the previous 2019 Assembly election, while Congress captured 37, up from 31 in the previous Assembly elections. However, the Congress has won, the party has refused to accept the election results due to alleged malpractice, especially during the tallying of votes.
The Election Commission refuted these allegations on Haryana Assembly results. After the announcement of the results, Congress representatives were able to pay a visit to the Election Commission of India, also filing a complaint joined by what they call ‘proofs’ of the various malpractices that were committed during the elections. However, it appears that BJP is headed for a third term in office in the state.
