The Dungarpur district police captured a jeep loaded with alcohol and an elderly person riding it on Navadera Road on Saturday. The smuggler had driven the alcohol-laden jeep 50 kilometers from Gujarat to Dungarpur. Despite a flat tire during the chase, the smuggler continued without stopping. Surprisingly, the jeep reached Dungarpur, covering 15 kilometers on three tires. The Gujarat Police successfully trailed the Bolero filled with alcohol for 50 kilometers, capturing the smuggler and seizing 35 cartons of alcohol worth two lakh rupees.
Even after a tire burst, the smuggler managed to reach the city at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The Bolero covered around 15 kilometers after the tire burst. Subsequently, in Navadera, the smuggler abandoned the Bolero and fled. Following this, the local police arrested a person at the scene.
On Meghraj-Ahmedabad Road, Gujarat Police’s home guard received information during duty about a liquor-filled vehicle entering its territory.
