A fire broke out in the subconstruction Bullet Train Station in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, in the early hours of Saturday, and offensive services came to hasten its circumstances. Fire tenders were rushed to the place, and the fire, which took place around 6:30 AM, as per the officials, was doused by them.

The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) confirmed that the fire started in the roof shuttering of a part of the Mumbai to Ahmedabad bullet train construction site. The area is still under investigation. There were no reported injuries or casualties. However, preliminary assessments indicate welding sparks from temporary shuttering work may have started the fire. Authorities are still investigating the cause.

Authorities Monitor the Situation

The situation is being monitored by officials from the NHSRCL to keep a check on the site so that construction can continue safely. Built with state-of-the-art infrastructure and modern amenities, the Sabarmati station is one of the main components of India’s first-ever bullet train project. Financially and technically supported by Japan, this project aims to revolutionize India’s railway sector.

Sabarmati Station: A Crucial Link in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project

Of the 12 stations on the 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor, the Sabarmati station is 352 km in Gujarat and 156 km in Maharashtra. The stations are Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand/Nadiad, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati.

The fire incident occurred during the project, but officials are determined to ensure safety and speedy completion. With a bullet train, connectivity between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is expected to be greatly improved, and travel time will be significantly cut down.
