On Wednesday, a fire in a crackers manufacturing unit at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district, Andhra Pradesh, in which six people died and two more were injured. Authorities assume that the accident could have been a result of the improper handling of materials at the unit, but investigations are still underway.

Superintendent of Police Rahul Meena claims that the factory in which the fire ignited was a licensed one. A total of six bodies have been found till now. We are still trying to identify the bodies. There was preliminary data that it was a licensed unit, Meena said. The two injured individuals are shifted to a local hospital immediately to receive treatment, and their conditions are closely monitored.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, condemned the incident and ordered top officials to go to the area of the tragedy to preside over relief and rehabilitation works. A fire incident at Bana Sancha manufacturing facility of Rayavaram in Konaseema district has led to unimaginable sorrow in terms of the loss of a number of lives.
