The third term of Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Minister was sworn in today at the Azad Maidan in Mumbai. Many other dignitaries were present at the ceremony, including the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, who congratulated the newly sworn-in Chief Minister. Other luminaries include B-Town stars Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Cricket Maestro Sachin Tendulkar and Industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla on the occasion. The event was attended by many union ministers, chief ministers, and deputy chief ministers from different parts of India.

This is the third time Devendra Fadnavis is taking the Oath of Chief Minister, this time after voting for the Maharashtra assembly when the BJP headed the Mahayuti alliance victoriously formed the government. The current electoral alliance involving BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP controls a whopping 230 of the seats in the assembly, while the BJP single-handedly managed to win 132 of the seats. The new government association was formed after the marathon of two weeks of bargaining among the several parties that constitute the Mahayuti alliance to establish Fadnavis as the chief.

To questions related to the oath-taking of other ministers, Sudhir Mungantiwar of BJP has opined that it is more or less certain that the council of ministers will be sworn in before the onset of the winter session of the assembly so that there is no disruption of administration.

More than 42000 people, including AAP volunteers and BJP supporters, along with several dignitaries, were present at the event. This was done in order to house 40000 BJP followers, wherein 2000 VVIPs were provided a special section that included religious figures. Security was very tight in the venue, so over 4,000 police personnel were committed to protecting all the people and the ceremony.
