NEW DELHI: For the third consecutive day, two schools in Delhi on Wednesday reportedly received bomb threats. The schools that received the threats were the St Thomas School in Dwarka, and the Vasant Valley School in Vasant Kunj. Moreover, this is the second bomb threat to St Thomas School in two days.

“We received a call at 8 am from St Thomas School in Dwarka as well. Fire tenders were sent immediately,” an official had said.

Earlier on July 14, the CRPF Public School in Dwarka Sector 16 and Navy School in Chanakyapuri received bomb threats, following which bomb squad, dog squad and other agencies were alerted and children were evacuated.

St. Stephen’s College in Delhi also received the bomb threat. Security teams, including the Delhi Police Bomb Squad, Dog Squad, Fire Brigade, and Special Staff, conducted thorough inspections of the premises. Officials later confirmed that nothing suspicious had been recovered. Earlier in February 2025, St. Stephen’s College received bomb threats via email along with two schools in Noida.

“In addition to the schools, St. Stephen’s College at Delhi University also reportedly received a bomb threat via email on Tuesday. The email warned that four IEDs and two packets of RDX had been planted on the college premises.”

On Monday, July 13, three more schools—Navy School in Chanakyapuri, CRPF School in Dwarka, and another in Rohini—had reported receiving bomb threat emails.

The bomb threats are not new. On December 9, 2024, more than 40 schools in the national capital received bomb threats via email on Monday, Delhi Police said. DPS RK Puram and GD Goenka School in Paschim Vihar are among the 44 schools that received a threat, prompting action. Students have been sent back home, while the police have been informed. Disappointed with the law and order situation in the national capital, Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asked Home Minister Amit Shah for answers.
