NEW DELHI: The tragic suicide of a Delhi cafe owner on December 31 has led to serious allegations of toxicity and abuse within his marriage. The 40-year-old businessman, found hanging in his Model Town residence, had been undergoing a contentious divorce with his wife.
Police have launched an investigation after the man’s family accused his wife and her relatives of mental harassment. His father stated that the abuse caused unbearable stress, while his sister claimed he left behind a video describing the alleged mistreatment.
Six days before the incident, his wife posted on Instagram about “healing from toxicity and narcissistic abuse.” In the now-deleted post, she mentioned striving for indifference and trusting divine justice for her “abusers.”
According to investigators, the couple had argued over their joint business the night before his death. The man reportedly recorded the conversation, which is now part of the inquiry. Deputy Commissioner of Police Bhisham Singh confirmed that both families have made allegations, and evidence is being reviewed.
