New Delhi: The weather has taken a new turn in Delhi-NCR in recent days. Due to torrential rain in Delhi, waterlogging occurred in many areas of Lutyens Delhi. A part of Janpath Road was submerged, while the road from Janpath to Jantar Mantar also got submerged in water. As a result, many shops were also flooded. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued orange and red alerts for some areas, due to which Delhiites remained alert.

ven today, many areas of NCR, including Delhi-Noida, have been waterlogged due to heavy rains. Due to water accumulation on the roads, problems of traffic jams have arisen, due to which people going to office in the morning are facing a lot of difficulties. However, this rain has given some relief to the people of Delhi by reducing the heat and pollution. Such weather is seen every year during monsoon. The Meteorological Department has predicted more rain in the next few days, due to which citizens have been advised to remain alert.

According to the IMD, Safdarjung received 14.4 mm rainfall between 5:30 am and 8:30 am on Wednesday, while a total of 9.3 mm rainfall was recorded till 5:30 pm. Pragati Maidan received 16.6 mm, Pusa 23.5 mm, Janakpuri 9.5 mm, Najafgarh 2 mm, Rajghat 38.9 mm and Lodhi Road 20 mm of rain drenched Delhi. In terms of weather, the maximum temperature was 30.8 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 25.6 degrees Celsius, which is 4.1 degrees below normal.
