New Delhi: Several schools in Delhi, including RK Puram’s Delhi Public School and Vasant Kunj’s Ryan International School, on Saturday received bomb threats via email, third time this week.

A bomb threat was reported at Delhi Public School (DPS), RK Puram, early Saturday morning, marking the third such incident targeting schools in the national capital this week. “We received a call about a bomb threat at DPS RK Puram at 6:09 am,” a Delhi Fire Services official confirmed. The fire department, local police, dog squads, and bomb detection teams quickly arrived at the school to launch a thorough search operation.

On Friday, more than 30 schools in the capital were once again threatened with bombing via email, after which the police, fire brigade, bomb squad and dog squad raided for several hours, but no suspect was found. This threat was just a rumour.

On 9 December, more than 40 schools received bomb threats via email, but after investigation, the police declared this too to be false. The police’s technical team is investigating the threatening email.

Delhi Fire Department officials said that schools received a threatening email at 12:54 am on Thursday night, following which the fire department started receiving multiple calls. Threats were reported from more than 30 schools, one after the other: Bhatnagar International School in Paschim Vihar at 4:21 am, Cambridge School in Srinivaspuri at 6:23 am, DPS Amar Colony at 6:35 am, South Delhi Public School in Defence Colony at 7:57 am, Delhi Police Public School at 8:02 am and Venkateshwar Global School in Rohini at 8:30 am.
