New Delhi: On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, strong earthquake tremors were felt in parts of Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) at around 14:51 IST. The tremors were reportedly felt for a few seconds and caused buildings to shake. People rushed out of their homes in panic.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said that the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.2 and its epicenter was located in Nepal, about 190 km from Delhi. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 5 km.

The tremors were felt in several parts of Delhi-NCR, including central Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Meerut. People also reported feeling the tremors in neighboring states such as Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
There were no immediate reports of any damage or injuries. However, the NCS has advised people to be cautious and to follow safety measures in case of aftershocks.
