New Delhi: Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for major metro expansion projects in Delhi on March 8th. As part of this program, two new metro corridors will be inaugurated and the foundation stone laid for three new corridors. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that upon completion, these projects will provide the capital with the country’s first “ring metro” facility, further improving connectivity between different parts of the city. This is expected to significantly ease commuters’ travel.

The Chief Minister made this announcement on Thursday during the foundation stone laying ceremony of a foot overbridge (FOB) in the Monastery Market area near the Kashmir Gate ISBT. He said the Delhi government respects all residents of the capital, regardless of their state, and is working to provide better infrastructure for all. He said strengthening the transport infrastructure is the government’s priority for Delhi’s development.

He said that India has never attacked any other country and that if any country has taken up arms, it has only been for self-defense. The Chief Minister stated that the Public Works Department (PWD) will construct the foot overbridge at a cost of approximately ₹3 crore. The FOB will be designed keeping in mind the culture and traditions of Ladakh.

CM Rekha Gupta said that families from Ladakh have been living in this area for many years and everyone is like one family. She said that people from different states and regions live in the country’s capital and the government respects all residents. She also targeted the Aam Aadmi Party, saying that the previous government prioritized vote bank politics over the welfare of the people. She said that the current government’s aim is to ensure better infrastructure and development for all citizens of Delhi.
