Over 50 schools in Delhi received bomb threat via email on Wednesday morning. While it is not clear which schools received the threat, one of the schools is reportedly in Malviya Nagar, and another is in Najafgarh. Sources reveal that DAV Public School, Faith Academy, Doon Public School and Sarvodhaya Vidyalaya were among the institutions that received the bomb threats. Delhi Police reportedly identified the sender as ‘Terrorizers 111’, who had demanded USD 25,000.

A bomb squad and security personnel were seen at the Sarvodya Kanya Vidyalya (SKV) in Delhi’s Hauz Rani this morning, a development that comes a day after 32 other schools in the city received similar threats. Those earlier incidents had prompted large-scale evacuations and security checks.

Earlier on Monday, Delhi Fire Services said it received calls from 32 schools between 7.30 am and 12.25 pm after they found threatening emails in their inboxes. Most of those institutions were in Dwarka, including Delhi Public School, BGS International Public School, Shri Venkateshwar School, Global School, and several others. DPS Dwarka had even sent children back home, announcing closure for the day.

It is important to note that since January, at least 74 educational institutions, 70 schools and four colleges in Delhi-NCR have received bomb threats, according to police records. In May last year, nearly 300 schools received bomb threat e-mails which later turned out to be hoax.
