Assembly Poll Preparations: Putting an end to doubts over AAP leader Manish Sisodia’s role in Delhi’s mainstream politics after walking out of jail, AAP sources said the former Deputy CM will take charge of the Assembly poll preparations. Senior party leaders will gather at his house at 6 pm on Sunday for a meeting. AAP is also preparing to shift office at Pandit Ravi Shankar Lane.
Manish Sisodia, who had been imprisoned for 17 months, received bail from the Supreme Court in connection with corruption and money laundering charges related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. The Supreme Court granted bail, citing that his prolonged detention without trial had compromised his right to a speedy trial.
The meeting will take place at Sisodia’s residence and is expected to focus on the party’s electoral strategy and preparations for the Delhi assembly elections scheduled for next year. The gathering will likely involve discussions on key campaign strategies, candidate selection, and mobilising support to retain and strengthen their position in the Delhi legislative assembly.
Meanwhile, AAP leader Sanjay Singh hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Hindenburg’s report on SEBI chief’s stakes in Adani offshore entities and said that till Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in power, there will never be a probe into the matter. Singh also urged for a Supreme Court-led probe into the latest allegations, while adding that the reports filed before the apex court earlier were baseless and the truth was hidden.
