A major transformation is underway in the education sector in Delhi. The capital’s first CM Shri School is set to open soon, and its inauguration date has been set. The school will begin operations on October 1, 2025. CM Shri Schools are modeled after the central government’s PM Shri Schools. These schools will align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and offer modern and advanced educational facilities to students.

A senior Delhi government official said on Thursday that the capital’s first CM Shri School is set to open on October 1, 2025, as part of the ongoing “Seva Pakhwada” campaign to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. According to the official, the school is housed in a newly constructed building in Sarojini Nagar and is currently in its final stages of construction. It will be the first institution in Delhi in the chain of CM Shri schools.

According to the Directorate of Education (DoE), admit cards were released on September 10. Exams (classes 6, 7, and 8) were held on September 13, which was originally scheduled for September 6. Final selection list was published on September 20. The admission process was targeted to be completed by the end of September.

CM Shri Schools are being modeled after PM Shri Schools and in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. These will have state-of-the-art facilities like smart classrooms, AI library, robotics lab, a biometric attendance system, etc.

The Delhi government announced the CM Shri School Scheme with a budget of ₹100 crore in the 2025-26 budget. These schools are being developed along the lines of PM Shri Schools and in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
