New Delhi: A major fire broke out in the national capital, Delhi, on Thursday morning (March 5). A fire suddenly broke out in slums near the Rithala Metro Station, causing panic in the area. According to eyewitnesses, the fire was so intense that it engulfed several slums within seconds. The flames and smoke were visible from afar. Local residents immediately alerted the fire department, following which several fire engines arrived at the scene and efforts began to control the fire. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Relief and rescue operations are underway. The administration is assessing the damage and evacuating affected families to safety.

According to the fire department, the fire was reported around 4:15 a.m. Upon receiving the information, the fire department immediately responded, dispatching approximately 15 fire engines to the scene. Upon arriving, firefighters began a firefighting operation and attempted to secure the surrounding area. Additional resources were also deployed due to the intensity of the fire.

According to preliminary information, approximately 50 huts were destroyed in the fire near the Rithala Metro station. The exact cause of the fire is still unknown. The fire department and local administration have launched an investigation. Officials say the investigation is taking all aspects into account.

It is a matter of relief that no casualties have been reported so far. However, the belongings of many families were completely burned, causing losses estimated to be in the millions of rupees.
