A list of highly sensitive booths is being prepared in Delhi for the Lok Sabha elections. The North-West and Shahdara districts of the capital will have the highest number of serious category booths, while New Delhi has the least number of such booths.
In both the North-West and Shahdara districts, a list of 146-146 serious category booths has been made, in the South-Eastern district there are 53 serious polling booths. It is estimated that there will be about 38 serious booths in the outer North district. Apart from this, there are about 255 polling stations in the North-East district, out of which 55 are in critical category.
This information has been obtained from data collected from different districts. About 1,200 polling booths will be established in 250 premises in Dwarka. Of these, more than 50 have been marked as serious. However, these are not final figures. Now, on the basis of A’s report, they have been temporarily categorized as serious, the final decision on this will be taken by the returning officer of the concerned district. There are elections in Delhi on 25th May. Elections are to be held on seven Lok Sabha seats here. The Chief Electoral Officer has given instructions to conduct webcasting at the booths on the day of voting for the convenience of the voters.
Meanwhile, Delhi police is busy making arrangements for security. Apart from the normal deployment, it has been decided to make additional deployment of Havildars and central para-military forces in every important complex. At the same time, action against liquor, drugs and arms mafias has been intensified in every district. The list of various polling booths has been sent to the Election Commission. About 13 thousand polling booths can be made at more than 2.5 thousand places across Delhi.
