New Delhi: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) today rebut claims of political vendetta against AAP leaders accused in Delhi excise policy scam. The BJP alleged widespread corruption within AAP and asserted that funds obtained through corruption were funneled into party activities.

Delhi BJP Secretary Bansuri Swaraj highlighted the evidence presented by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and clarified that ED’s actions are unrelated to upcoming elections. Swaraj further emphasized that these actions result from the AAP’s conduct and are not politically motivated.

“Making AAP an accused in the Delhi liquor policy case is not a political vendetta. We have consistently asserted that the AAP is steeped in corruption from top to bottom. The money extracted from corruption was used by the party for its own activities. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) presented a chart before the court, and now efforts are underway to make the AAP an accused in the scam. If this happens, AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal will be made an accused in the case”, said Bansuri Swaraj.

Earlier on Monday, the Supreme Court questioned the CBI and the ED about the delay in the trials that former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is facing in the Delhi Excise Policy Scam case. The AAP leader has been in custody since February this year. The inquiry was posed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna along with Justice SVN Bhatti, who is currently hearing Sisodia’s plea against Delhi High Court.
